What should we bring to make our stay more enjoyable?
- Queen size bed linens/blankets/pillows
- Towels, wash cloths and all your personal hygiene needs
- Paper products (toilet paper, paper towel, napkins, etc) and garbage bags
- All food & condiments and drinks (NOTE: this is a "dry" county meaning it's alcohol free,
not available to purchased locally so you must bring your own)
- Campfire starter sticks & lighter are helpful
- Bug spray
- Camera
How close is the house to boating and swimming?
Lake Cumberland offers miles and miles of beautiful shoreline. The Life is Good
Retreat is located on the river, approximately 13 miles by water to the main lake
and 65 miles to Wolf Creek Dam. This may be the most breath taking trip on water you
ever take. Whether you take a trip to Lee's Ford Marina to shop and dine at the
restaurant, just lay out and soak up the sun, or do tons of water sports, Lake
Cumberland is a boater's dream vacation.
If you enjoy fishing, Lake Cumberland has several guide services, especially if you want
to go after those large strippers, or you can enjoy fishing from the banks in front
of the Life is Good Retreat.
Boat/jet ski rentals are available at many of the marinas on the lake. Burnside Marina
is the closest full service rental provider to the retreat. Buck Creek Dock, approximately
4-5 miles by water from the retreat, can provide all your fuel needs.
Nearby attractions include Cumberland Falls, Big South Fork Railroad, The Natural Bridge,
